Stitching thousands of photos of the same object/space from different positions & orientations to create not only a 2D composite, but a 3D model. Probably the best combination of both community collaboration and massive increases in computing power. Link here.

Rosling’s Trendalizer Program

Trendalyzer is the basis of Rosling’s TED demonstration. It loads data in proprietary format that might be simple to reproduce. It will export tables or graphs to Excel as well as output presentations to Flash.
