Gartner released the updated quadrant for DW DBMS software and appliances. DATAllegro seems too far below Netezza in ability to execute. DATAllegro has large, proven installations. Their recent releases run on Dell blades with EMC storage instead of the customized FPGAs of Netezza. And how is Greenplum rated higher than DATAllego? (via DBMS2)

Datallegro has no customers, Greenplum does. Datallegro is all hype, they haven’t announced a new customer in almost 2 years, how is that even possible?

Oh yes, we do have customers!
In fact, we just closed our fiscal year in June with over 300% revenue growth. This year is off to a great start and I expect revenues to grow at around the same rate. As far as I know, this is MUCH faster than any of our competitors.
Our focus has been on very large, strategic installations at Fortune 50 companies. Our largest production system to date is 320TB of user data at a Tier 1 telecoms carrier. We also have a number of other installations in excess of 100TB.
Gartner spoke to a number of our references before publishing their report. I’m still shocked that they positioned us so low on the MQ, but you can read Gartner’s comments to get their view of how many customers we have - it’s significantly more than your claim of zero!
