About

Hi. My name is Jay Jakosky. Proud geek. Thespian. Husband. Stepdad.

I had the good fortune to start learning digital technology in the 80′s when we were still close to the ones and zeroes. Knowing how processors work made me write faster code. Understanding hard drives helped make a space-efficient database.

My first computer was a Commodore 64. My first game system was a Nintendo, including the “Robotic Operating Buddy.” A great time to be a geek!

My career at the intersection of Business and Technology goes back to age 9, when my dad said he would open a video store. I sat down at my Apple II GS, booted into AppleBasic, and wrote the software to manage customers, inventory, rentals, and late fees. (Ew! Late Fees!) That video store never opened, and one day I realized I had written my first database-backed business software product.

Later I had the good fortune to run into QlikView while managing multiple ERP systems. The ease and rapid development was a revolution. I rolled out tool after tool to every part of the business and loved the positive feedback. And today my focus is clearer than ever: I am committed to transforming the lives of people through immediate access to the right information.
